Introduction MakeSeamless ("we", "our" or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information when you use makeseamless.com, its app and its API (the "Service"). We are committed to GDPR and CCPA compliance. ## 2. Information we collect ### 2.1 Information you provide - Account information: your email address, and your name and profile picture when you sign in with Google or GitHub. When you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and the email address you choose to share, which can be a private relay address from Apple. Customer accounts sign in without a password. - Payment information, processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. - The pattern tiles you upload for a fix, and the results we make from them. - Your ratings of fix results, when you choose to rate one. - API keys you create. We store a fingerprint of each key, never the key itself. - Messages you send us when you contact support. ### 2.2 Information collected automatically - Usage analytics and performance measurements. - Device information and IP addresses, for security, rate limits and fraud prevention. - Cookies and similar technologies (see our [Cookie policy](/cookies.md)). - Request and error logs, for debugging and keeping the Service running. ## 3. How we use your information We use the information we collect to: - Provide, maintain and improve the Service - Run the checks and fixes you ask for - Process payments and manage subscriptions and credits - Send you sign-in links, receipts, billing notices and other service messages - Answer your questions and support requests - Understand how the Service is used, so we can make it better - Detect, prevent and address technical issues, abuse and fraud - Comply with legal obligations We do not sell your personal information. ## 4. Your tiles and results **Checks:** a check reads the tile you send and keeps no copy of it. **Fixes:** to run a fix, we store the tile you upload and the images the fix makes. They are deleted 30 days after the fix. **Ratings:** when you rate a result, we keep the tile you uploaded and the image you rated, so that we can use them to make better fixes. You can ask us to delete them at any time. If you delete your account, we keep them only without any link to you or your account. We do not claim ownership of your tiles or of the results. **Data location:** our servers are in the United States, and error reports are stored in the EU. By using the Service, you consent to data processing in the US and the EU. ## 5. Service providers We use service providers that process information on our behalf, under contract, only to provide the Service: - **Stripe:** payment processing (PCI DSS compliant) - **Google, GitHub and Apple:** sign-in, when you choose to sign in with them - **Google Analytics:** measurement of how the site is used - Hosting, content delivery and security providers that run the site and the API - A database and sign-in provider that stores your account - An email provider that sends our service messages - An error monitoring provider that records technical errors. Its event data is stored in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany). - Image-processing providers that run parts of a fix on the tile you send, only to make that fix ## 6. Your rights (GDPR and CCPA) You have the right to: - **Access:** request a copy of your personal data - **Rectification:** request correction of inaccurate data - **Erasure:** request deletion of your personal data - **Restriction:** request that we limit how we process your data - **Portability:** request your data in a structured format - **Objection:** object to how we process your data - **Opt out:** opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell data) To use these rights, write to [hello@makeseamless.com](mailto:hello@makeseamless.com). We answer within 30 days. ## 7. Data security We use technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including: - Encryption in transit (TLS 1.2 and above) and at rest - Access controls and authentication - API keys stored only as fingerprints, and revoked at once when you revoke them No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. ## 8. Data retention We keep your personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes in this Privacy Policy: - **Account data:** for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app or on makeseamless.com: your sign-in, your API keys and the link between you and your fixes and ratings are deleted at once. - **Tiles and fix results:** deleted 30 days after the fix, also when you delete your account before then - **Rated tiles and results:** kept to improve our fixes, until you ask us to delete them; after you delete your account, kept without any link to you - **Logs and error reports:** kept for up to 90 days - **Billing records:** kept for at least 7 years, as tax and accounting law requires ## 9. Cookies We use cookies and similar technologies: - **Essential:** required for the site to work (sign-in, security, your cookie choice) - **Analytics:** help us understand how the site is used You can change your cookie choice at any time. For details, see our [Cookie policy](/cookies.md). ## 10. Children's privacy The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a minor, contact us right away. ## 11. Changes to this Privacy Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will also tell you by email. ## 12.
